The Walled Garden At Beeston Fields Wedding Photography - Mairéad and George’s Wedding
Mairéad and George’s big day brought back a few memories of my own wedding. It was held at St Barnabas Cathedral in Nottingham where I myself got married just over a decade ago. It was a great day back then ( gotta say that - my wife might read this!) and was another great day to be back as a Nottingham wedding photographer.
Wedding Preparations
I started the day over in Hucknall, beginning with George’s groom prep at the couple’s home. It was then a short trip around the corner to Mairéad’s mum’s house where the bridal preparations were in full swing.
The Walled Garden
After the ceremony at St Barnabas it was onto the Walled Garden at Beeston Fields. Now the Walled Garden is a bit of a rags to riches story. The original Victorian walled garden is hidden behind a Beeston Fields country home built in 1837. As years passed it was left locked away, overgrown and overlooked. However in 2011 it was completely restored to its former glory. The beautiful gardens now play host to beautiful weddings with couples having the choice of a few different licenced areas for their ceremony. Firstly the loggia, a converted old greenhouse adorned with rambling roses and flowerbeds. Then a fabulous bandstand situated in the heart of the garden. Lastly, a traditional Georgian style marquee.
Wedding Reception
The marquee played host to Mairéad and George’s reception, overlooking the stunning gardens. It was a scorcher of a day and I got some lovely confetti walking shots of the couple before drinks and canapés were served. You’re certainly spoilt for choice with regards to food here. The Walled Garden’s in-house catering team can provide you with a traditional sit down meal ( which Mairéad and George chose), afternoon tea, a table carvery or British barbeque, all equally superb. Once the meal and the emotional speeches were over, I headed into the gardens with the newlyweds for some romantic pictures. It was then time for the evening party to get under way. Alongside the dancing, guests enjoyed having caricature portraits done of themselves by the fantastic Beefy which went down a storm.
