Autumnal Wedding Photography At Harlaxton

Zoe and Oliver had their wedding in late September, in a quaint village called Heydour near Grantham. The ceremony took place at St Michaels Church, followed by a reception at the beautiful Harlaxton Manor in Grantham. The weather was delightful, with a warm autumn breeze. As a Nottingham wedding photographer, I had the pleasure of capturing their special day. My aim was to provide natural and relaxed wedding photography that truly reflected the atmosphere of the occasion. Zoe and Oliver wanted their photographs to tell the story of their wedding, and I was excited to bring their vision to life.

Exquisite Wedding Dress

Zoe’s choice of dress, from designer Sassi Holford was stunning. It’s simple and timeless elegance complimented the day perfectly and looked beautiful from every angle.

St Michaels Church created a picturesque backdrop for the ceremony. Its charming architecture, surrounded by trees and flowers, added a touch of tranquility to the day. The couple exchanged vows in a heartfelt ceremony, with friends and family looking on with joy. After the ceremony, we made our way to Harlaxton Manor for the reception. This stunning venue, known for its grandeur and elegance, perfectly complemented the overall ambiance of the wedding. The lush gardens and manicured lawns provided us with beautiful locations for capturing intimate moments between Zoe and Oliver.

Natural & Relaxed Wedding Photography

Throughout the day, I focused on capturing genuine emotions and candid moments. I believe that the best wedding photographs are those that reflect the love, happiness, and authenticity of the couple and their loved ones. I captured laughter, tears of joy, and heartfelt embraces, ensuring that every image evoked the essence of the day. The warm autumn day allowed for beautiful lighting, which added a touch of magic to the photographs. The golden hues of the sun, particularly in the evening as sunset took hold, enhanced the natural beauty of Zoe and Oliver, as well as the surrounding landscapes. It was a pleasure to work with such lovely lighting conditions, and I ensured that it further emphasised the relaxed and romantic atmosphere of the day.

As a photographer specialising in natural and relaxed wedding photography, I loved being a part of Zoe and Oliver's special day. The intimate setting, warm weather, and stunning venues all contributed to creating a truly memorable occasion.

Marquee Wedding In Colston Bassett, Nottinghamshire

I had the most amazing wedding experience photographing a relaxed summer marquee wedding in the beautiful village of Colston Bassett in Nottinghamshire. Let me tell you, it was pure magic! The day started off with such excitement as I arrived at the bride’s family home, which happened to be in this charming little village. The sun was shining, creating the most dreamy lighting for photography. You know how much I love natural light!

One of the highlights of the day was when the bride and groom joined the bridal party and close family for the formal photographs and those romantic shots at the ruins of St Mary’s Church in Colston Bassett. The scenary was so picturesque, it was impossible to resist capturing their love against that backdrop. The couple looked so at ease and happy, it made my job effortless.

I must say, being a natural and relaxed wedding photographer, these kind of weddings are what I live for. Its not about staged photos and forced smiles, its about capturing the true essence of the day - the love, the laughter, and those unforgettable moments. All in all, this relaxed summer marquee wedding in Colston Bassett reminded me once again why I am so passionate about documenting love stories. It was a day filled with joy, happiness, and the warmth of family and friends coming together to celebrate.

Swancar Farm Wedding Photography | Kate & Dave

Swancar Farm Wedding Photographer - Kate & Dave’s wedding photographs

A warm and sunny day at Swancar Farm greeted me for Kate and Dave’s wedding. Swancar Farm Country House sits in rolling countryside near Trowell and is easily reached from both Nottingham and Derby. As a Nottingham wedding photographer, I always enjoy the short trip over to Swancar, a timeless venue that exudes character and romance and only 15 minutes from Nottingham city centre. With its barn style reception hall, stunning gardens and pretty courtyard space, Swancar is becoming an increasingly popular venue for weddings. As you begin to make your way up the sweeping drive towards the exclusive and private estate, you know you are approaching something special.

Swancar Farm Wedding Venue

Swancar offers a self contained private cottage within its grounds - The Old Stables. This is where I first joined Kate. Kate and her bridesmaids were in high spirits and had spent the previous night here in the pretty cottage. We then moved over to the bridal suite for final bridal preparations where the excitement and good vibes continued. It was then time for the main event.

Wedding Ceremony

Kate and Dave chose to hold their ceremony in the glass barn, the latest addition to Swancar, built just off the lower barn. Kate’s dad proudly walked her down the aisle into this light and airy stunning space. After the ceremony it was out into the courtyard for canapés, drinks and their confetti walk.

A few family pictures on the front lawns were followed by stylish portraits of the newly weds in the beautiful surroundings of Swancar.

We then joined the rest of the wedding party and guests in the great hall for the speeches and wedding breakfast. After cutting of the cake and first dance, it was time to party - The Great Hall providing the perfect space for this. A great wedding in a great venue.
