Harlaxton Manor Wedding | Zoe & Oliver

Autumnal Wedding Photography At Harlaxton

Zoe and Oliver had their wedding in late September, in a quaint village called Heydour near Grantham. The ceremony took place at St Michaels Church, followed by a reception at the beautiful Harlaxton Manor in Grantham. The weather was delightful, with a warm autumn breeze. As a Nottingham wedding photographer, I had the pleasure of capturing their special day. My aim was to provide natural and relaxed wedding photography that truly reflected the atmosphere of the occasion. Zoe and Oliver wanted their photographs to tell the story of their wedding, and I was excited to bring their vision to life.

Exquisite Wedding Dress

Zoe’s choice of dress, from designer Sassi Holford was stunning. It’s simple and timeless elegance complimented the day perfectly and looked beautiful from every angle.

St Michaels Church created a picturesque backdrop for the ceremony. Its charming architecture, surrounded by trees and flowers, added a touch of tranquility to the day. The couple exchanged vows in a heartfelt ceremony, with friends and family looking on with joy. After the ceremony, we made our way to Harlaxton Manor for the reception. This stunning venue, known for its grandeur and elegance, perfectly complemented the overall ambiance of the wedding. The lush gardens and manicured lawns provided us with beautiful locations for capturing intimate moments between Zoe and Oliver.

Natural & Relaxed Wedding Photography

Throughout the day, I focused on capturing genuine emotions and candid moments. I believe that the best wedding photographs are those that reflect the love, happiness, and authenticity of the couple and their loved ones. I captured laughter, tears of joy, and heartfelt embraces, ensuring that every image evoked the essence of the day. The warm autumn day allowed for beautiful lighting, which added a touch of magic to the photographs. The golden hues of the sun, particularly in the evening as sunset took hold, enhanced the natural beauty of Zoe and Oliver, as well as the surrounding landscapes. It was a pleasure to work with such lovely lighting conditions, and I ensured that it further emphasised the relaxed and romantic atmosphere of the day.

As a photographer specialising in natural and relaxed wedding photography, I loved being a part of Zoe and Oliver's special day. The intimate setting, warm weather, and stunning venues all contributed to creating a truly memorable occasion.

Hodsock Priory Wedding Photography - Emma & Sam’s Wedding

Hodsock Priory

Emma and Sam’s wedding took place at Hodsock Priory on the Nottinghamshire/South Yorkshire border. I love the surroundings at Hodsock, five acres of beautiful formal gardens leading onto rolling countryside as far as the eye can see. These gardens attract visitors all year round but they are particularly impressive in early spring when the whole place is a carpet of snowdrops. Well worth a visit.

Bridal Preparations

It was a very warm sunny day for Emma and Sam The first thing you spot as you approach Hodsocks historic country house is the grade 1 listed Tudor gatehouse - the last remaining one in Nottinghamshire. I joined Emma’s bridal preparations in the designated dressing room along with her 5 bridesmaids. After hair and makeup it was then up to the bridal suite for pictures of the final reveal to her bridesmaids and father. Emma chose a beautiful neutral colour scheme.

Wedding Ceremony Rooms

Hodsock offers a choice of rooms in which to wed - the popular oak panelled historic hall or the more contemporary Buchanan Hall offering a luxurious chandelier lit neutral backdrop. Smaller intimate ceremonies can be held in the traditional library or light and airy Ante room. Of course there’s always outdoors - under the Georgian gazebo in the central garden, the rose garden, the bluebell wood, or even under the historic gatehouse.

The Wedding Day

After Emma and Sam’s ceremony we made our way to the light and airy bar area, opening up on the Italian terrace. Onto the wedding breakfast and speeches with amazing ‘ naked ‘ cake. The sun starting to set provided us with the perfect lighting to grab a few pictures of the happy couple in the fabulous gardens. It was then time to party!!!
